Finn Terje Skyrud and Lars Ness are flying the Bücker Bü 131 Jungmann at the Flygfesten air show, a German training aircraft developed during the 1930s.
The aircraft was built using a combination of steel, wood, and fabric. Test flights revealed excellent performance, and it became popular both with civilian flight schools and in the German air force, the Luftwaffe. The model was also exported to countries such as Hungary and Romania, and was license-built in places like Switzerland and Japan.
During World War II, the plane was used not only for training but also in night raids against Soviet forces, as it could carry small bombs weighing 1–2 kilograms. Despite the war, many examples survived, and production continued – as late as the 1950s, the model was still being produced in Czechoslovakia under the designation C.4.

Flygande Veteraner and the DC-3 "Daisy" are coming to Flygfesten! Daisy was built in 1943 and is a true veteran! She took part in World War II, including the airborne landing on D-Day, June 6, 1944. She helped build up SAS, served faithfully in Linjeflyg and the Swedish Air Force, and since 1982 she has been operated by the association Flygande Veteraner, flying out of Bromma for many years. Now we continue our journey, with Västerås as our new base.
The Douglas DC-3 is one of the most produced transport and passenger aircraft in the world. The prototype first flew on December 22, 1935. It was developed from the DC-2 as a passenger and mail transport aircraft. In total, over 16,000 DC-3s were built, the majority for military use.

With the cleanest nose at Flygfesten, Jonas Larsson and Johan Gustafsson present a newly formed duo for Flygfesten—Team Thunder! Flying the Thorp T18 and the Laser, they have mastered the art of formation flying with two completely different aircraft, each with unique speeds and flight characteristics. And they do it brilliantly! This duo performs at airshows all across Europe, and at Flygfesten, they will fly on all three days—Friday evening, as well as Saturday and Sunday during the day. Don't miss it!
